Crafted from all-weather polymer, the Delta DC ceiling fan is able to better resist the harsh outdoor elements without rusting or corroding
Carefully designed and engineered to utlilise all-weather polymer blades and motor housing, the Delta DC ceiling fan is a great choice for both indoor and outdoor cooling, including locations that may be exposed to high salt environments (salt pools or by the ocean). The polymer material is UV stabilised and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth – so it won’t rust like metal or warp like timber and will continue to look stunning for years to come.
DC Motor
Class leading DC motor technology provides amazing performance coupled with exceptional energy efficiency.
Utilising the latest in DC motor technology to provide a high performance and highly efficient cooling solution, the Delta ceiling fan uses a class leading DC motor engineered to provide high torque while consuming less power. This allows the Delta to provide exceptional airflow while being extremely energy efficient to operate – using only 40W on high and as little as 6W on low speed.
DC motors use pulse modulation to keep the motor turning. Essentially what this means is that it is not constantly driving the motor to spin, it does it with pulses of energy at intervals and is one of the reasons they consume less energy than AC motors.
Aerodynamic blades
Aerodynamic polymer blade design for powerful airflow.
The Delta DC ceiling fan’s aerodynamic blade design utilises a varying blade pitch to provide sweeping airflow directly below the fan and sweeping outwards from the fan. The aerodynamic blades are crafted from polymer (a high-grade ABS plastic) that helps ensure highly efficient air delivery. Each injection moulded blade is corrosion proof, UV stabilised, easy to maintain, and weather-resistant. This means the Delta’s blades will continue to look stunning for years to come.
Thanks to the aerodynamic nature of the Delta’s blades, you can often achieve higher airflow at lower RPMs so you stay cooler with less wind noise.
Fan Finishes
Available in Black, Matte White or Oil-rubbed Bronze with Koa blades to suit a range of decors and styles.
The Delta ceiling fan is almost completely crafted from all-weather polymer, meaning it will never rust or corrode like standard steel ceiling fans. The clean and sweeping lines of the Delta ceiling fan lends itself to most contemporary and open living decors in Australia, ideal for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Remote Control
Stylish 6 speed remote control included with the Delta ceiling fan.
The Delta DC ceiling fan includes a stylish 6 speed remote control that seamlessly integrates advanced functions into your new ceiling fan, taking convenience to a whole new level. Includes 6 fan speed settings, reversing function, natural wind mode and the ability to switch your fan off after 1, 4 or 8 hours.
LED Light
Sleek and stylish 18W dimmable LED light version is available
For those times you need your ceiling fan to also be a light source, a dimmable 18W LED Light model is available. Ideal for smaller spaces where additional light sources are limited, the LED light is integrated into the Delta DC ceiling fan to provide additional illumination. The 18W LED panel supports Colour Changing Technology (CCT) so you can switch your light temperature between Warm, Cool and Daylight modes.
Performance
Spinning at 225 RPMs on high, the Delta provides 13,934 CMH airflow while using only 40W. This gives the Delta an excellent efficiency rating of 348 CMH/W on high speed.
At 142cm (56 inches), the Delta DC ceiling fan has an above-average blade span ideal for bedrooms, medium to large living areas, and alfresco outdoor spaces. The increased blade sweep provides improved airflow distribution over larger areas.
Rotations Per Minute (RPMs) shows how fast your ceiling fan spins. There are many factors that influence fan performance, so a fast spinning fan may not mean better performance for you. To learn more, read our Ceiling Fan Performance Guide.
Cubic Meters Per Hour
Airflow Volume
Airflow volume helps show how much air a ceiling fan moves in a space. Its important to note that airflow volume is not the same as airflow velocity, which is the primary way ceiling fan’s cool people (windchill). The higher the airflow volume the more air a ceiling fan will move. This can be helpful to identify ceiling fans that will provide adequate airflow for larger spaces.
The Delta DC ceiling fan moves slightly more air on its Speed 3 than the standard AC ceiling fan does on its highest speed (3). By running your Delta fan on Speed 3 you would enjoy similar cooling benefit with the advantage of slower RPMs (for less wind noise) and less power consumption (18 W compared to 60 W).
Wattage
Power usage
Power usage helps identify the models that will consume the lowest amount of electricity and therefore cost you the least to run. Attempt to factor in which speeds you believe your ceiling fan will most commonly need to be run on.
Using an example electricity rate of 26.62 c/kWh, it would cost $0.14 a day ($13.41 per quarter) to run the Delta DC ceiling fan on high for 12 hours and low for 12 hours every day. By comparison, the standard 52″ AC ceiling fan would cost $0.23 a day ($20.92 per quarter). Greater savings can be achieved by tweaking your fan’s speed settings to match your needs. For example, running your Delta on medium (speed 3) would produce similar airflow volume as the standard AC ceiling fan on high but reduce it’s energy consumption. Running on Speed 3 for 12 hours and low speed for 12 hours would cost $0.07 a day ($7.00 per quarter).
CMH / W
Efficiency
The Delta ceiling fan’s low power usage of 40W for a large 56″ ceiling fan, coupled with a high airflow volume translates to an extremely high efficiency rating of 348 CMH/W on high speed that only gets better on lower speeds. The higher the efficiency rating, the more air the ceiling fan moves per watt consumed.
